In spite of being an exercise piece, it has a beautiful melody. It’s also structured in a way that allows you to work on your playing technique step by step. This book has become a refreshment for me in between private practice sessions.

For me, these etudes provide the groundwork for improving my musicality.
Before buying the four etude package, I was thinking on purchasing one or two of the etude books to save on the cost. Instead, I finally decided to buy the entire package to get the full benefit of all four etude books.
For $49, It was worth it to get the package deal.
These 84 etudes are really super. As I practice a few each day and then record myself, I can hear the areas that need improvement.

A wonderful and interesting set of etudes.
I play tuba, and have played Arban, Clarke and others to death since I began playing in the mid-1980s! Boredom with these great composers, and a lack of inspiration for further improvement – together with a Facebook link – led me to Nathan and his music.
What a breath of fresh air! I have found new inspiration with music that is challenging, lyrical and beautiful to play. If I have a specific problem or issue I can usually find a solution within the etudes.

This series “4 catagory” breakdown lends itself to a systematic approach to both lyrical and technical playing. Other method books have used this this approach, but here the refreshing and modern melodies give it a fresh and more relatable experience. Can’t wait until the “84 duets for trumpet” is out…hint, hint…lol
